[[whoops i don't have the slightest clue what to do so here's a generic setting I guess]]
He doesn't have the gun with him today. Is that odd? He'd gotten so sick and tired of losing it, after all, and now he's gone and left it somewhere voluntarily. Of course, there's not really much use for it 'out here'--no white surfaces to shoot at, and really, not much reason to. There's nothing he can't reach simply walking or jumping here, and with the bracers on his legs, there's no real difficulty in that either.
What Kaito does still have however, is that book on sign language. He's still wondering how useful it'll be--it's brilliant for anyone who tries to learn themselves, but when it comes to the general public, he's going to end up hitting the same wall that he did simply by lacking a voice. Ahh.
Regardless, he's sitting with that book, occasionally grimacing when his hand doesn't quite form the shape he wants it to.
Asahi happens to be floating around, looking a little bored. There's no sign of The Messenger, nor is there any sign of anyone familiar to him. He's seen look a likes, but it's hard to figure out who is who. He's mostly been keeping to himself. Suddenly, he sees a young man who looks to be about his age, sitting with a book. Quietly, he floats over and looks at the book. Strange hand signals are in it and Asahi seems interested, but doesn't say anything quite yet.
Er... Alright, lets see now, this one is a symbol for the 'sea'...
'Building'... ...Potato. Hey that one might actually help a little--
Kaito pauses in his reading as the sensation of being watched comes over him, a familiar sensation, of course, but not a comforting one nonetheless. Even so, he can't seem to feel particularly threatened at the moment, perhaps a testament to the nature of who actually is watching.
As soon as he turns enough to spot Asahi, any chance of seeming 'threatened' fades almost completely, in fact, a rush of familiarity instead coming over him. He knows that face! He's seen a few with that face, after all--Yuuma! It's definitely Yuuma. To that end, he makes a short wave, a small smile on his face.
Asahi can sense familiarity from the other. Ah, he must be a friend of this boy...this Yuma he met. Looking at him with a small wave in return, he smiled back, trying to be as kind as possible.
"I am not the boy you know, my name is Asahi." He said it simply, calmly with a small, small smile.
He's rather confused at that, though this is likely expected. He certainly looks like Yuuma (albeit older, and dressed far differently, and...)--
Kaito nods. Alright. So perhaps it makes just as much sense for him to not be Yuuma, then. The question however thus becomes...
'Who are you?' Asahi probably knows as much about sign language as he does the internal workings of a computer, so the actual hand signals probably mean nothing to him. However, the message is conveyed in thought as well, so perhaps it still gets across in the end.
Asahi senses the questioning emotions and continues, knowing that he is able to easily communicate through sensing the other's emotions. He's very smart, Asahi can tell, so he believes him and has come to the conclusion that he isn't Yuma.
"I come from the past, or what I assume is that boy's past. I am a medium, but I have connection to the Astral World." Asahi explains, slowly placing his feet on the ground.
He stands, closing the book over and stowing it under an arm, staring questioningly. The past... He nods a little slowly as he takes that one in, since the matter of 'doubles' and the like has already made that a more than possible thing. However there are things he's still in the dark about.
Things such as the 'Astral World', and it honestly shows.
Asahi can sense the confusion and honestly looks sheepish. Most of what he's figured out is only what he's heard...experienced. It was hard to explain the Astral world when he only had a second hand experience and knowledge of their world. Sighing, he finally started to respond.
"I am uncertain of how to answer you on that. Things are only this way because I assume that's what they are."
Well, he doesn't quite look like he's comfortable with only that as an answer, but that's probably just because he likes to know things rather than going in totally blind. Then again--what does he have to do with this 'Astral World'. Maybe it doesn't even exist where he's from, or even in 'this' realm here.
So there is another nod, what with him having no other real choice but to accept it. He does wonder though... Is that how he was flying, that 'Astral world' connection? There's a little gesture to go with that unspoken question--a rising hand pointing toward Asahi, questioning the skill as a whole.
Asahi grinned to the other and moved to float again, showing him as a demonstration. "I am able to do this because of the Astral World." he said, moving to something and phasing his hand through it, as if it was transparent.
"I am also able to do that. However, that is what I am limited to. I have other abilities, but they are limited to sleeping and my medium abilities."
That... ...That is really cool actually, though admittedly part of his interest in discovering more of the 'how' in that is hampered by the knowledge of where that generally goes.
FOR SCIEN--
It's definitely very very interesting though, and Asahi more than has Kaito's attention as his hand passes through what it generally shouldn't, the act reminding him of what the Portal Gun allows to a mildly similar extent.
He's pretty sure Asahi isn't limited to white surfaces, or able to jump a distance gap of any number of feet.
Kaito looks down at his boots, flexing a foot. This is as close as he'll ever get to 'flight'--being able to fall without snapping his neck. Ahh...
Asahi moves over to Kaito again, flying around him and looking at the boots, moving down closer to the ground to look at them. They were pretty strange looking, actually, and he didn't know what they were used for, but he could sense that Kaito didn't fear them. He found comfort in having them...
Smiling, he moves up again. "Are you able to fly with those?"
Aha--if there could be sound, there would have been a laugh, a short 'snort' of amusement. The motion to make the sound was there, but even his breath makes no noise, so the fact that there isn't anything else is quite natural, really.
As it is, Kaito shakes his head, taking both his hands into a gesture of someone falling a fair distance. These are long-fall boots after all--they're meant for falling, nothing else.
Asahi looks at the hand motions and smiles. "I see, they are meant for falling. Interesting." He nodded to the other and moved away for a moment, looking at him. He wondered why the other didn't speak and didn't know if he should ask.
There's another nod, and while Asahi looks the blond over, he might notice a fair number of things 'wrong'--plenty of injuries sustained over time (though the only visible one would be that scar on his upper left arm...), burns, scrapes... His wrist is bandaged for a reason after all.
He seems happy enough for the moment however, nodding in a motion that bears at least some form of agreement. They are 'interesting', he supposes... It's certainly incredible how much distance they can take.
[Don't question the magic that brings two duelists together or something; Yuugi is in ur town and ready 2 duel. He's got his deck and all his fancy new technology stuff, and this seems like as good a spot as any to play.]
So this is the D-Gazer?
[He doesn't wait for an answer, too busy tucking the device over his ear. He's ready to just jump in and try this thing out!]
[ This guy was the King of Games!! THE KING OF GAMES. He was the greatest duelist ever and he wanted to duel him! He wanted to actually duel him! Yuma felt just so honored to be standing next to him, much less that he was going to duel him. Finally, when he was done still sparkling at the other for just being him, Yuma nodded with a grin ]
Yep! Now the AR space can be a little bit weird at first, so don't be surprised. [ Hurrying over across from Yugi, he put on his own D-Gazer, smiling happily. The voice came over the gazer saying the AR vision link was established and the field step up around them. ]
[If Yuugi notices Yuma's fanboying he doesn't let on; he's too busy being really excited too!! The field appears around them, passersby disappear, and he lights up even further, turning in a full circle to get the entire effect.]
Ahhhh, wow! [SUPER. COOL. But there's a lot more to do here than admire the technology. Let's get down to business!]
Alright, Yuma-kun! I'll go first--Draw!
[And from here on out, BE AS VAGUE AS YOU WANT TO, SKIP OVER AS MUCH AS YOU FEEL LIKE, ETC.]
[ Yuma's kind of nervous. It's a feeling in his stomach that he has that's kind of like butterflies, but he's more excited then anything. He really is dueling with Yugi Mutou!! He moves from one foot to the other in quick succession before settling, looking a little fidgety. He's ready to duel!! He looks at his cards and notices he's gotten Gagaga Gardna and Goblindbergh...he could use both of these...Plus double or nothing...Astral would want him to think a little bit...
Ah, he'd just use what he had and see how it went! ]
[Yuugi, on the other hand, isn't about to risk a careless mistake; he checks over the cards in his hands and quickly decides on the best possible opening strategy considering he doesn't know his opponent's deck or methods. There are sure to have been some changes in the game after all this time, as well. He's not going to let his guard down!]
I'll summon Silent Swordsman LvL 0 in attack mode, then set one card-- [all of which he does with great flourish, like any real duelist] --and end my turn!
My turn! Draw! [ Yuma makes a ridiculously wide motion to draw the card, grinning when he pulls Bye Bye Damage. Setting a card roughly on the duel disk, he starts to speak. ]
I summon Goblindbergh in attack mode! When successfully summoned, I can special summon one other monster of the same rank from my hand!
[ He sets another card on the duel disk, grinning ] I summon Gagaga Gardna in attack mode! With these two monsters I create the overlay network!
[ With that, there's a bunch of shiny things happening and the monsters go into the black hole and more SPARKLES AND AR MAGIC, and Yuma jumps slightly ]
I summon Heroic Champion Excalibur! With that, I attack Silent Swordsman! Go!
KAMINA HAS STOLEN ALL OF THE BLANKETS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and is snoring extremely loudly. Good luck trying to get some sleep before having to go into battle tomorrow morning, Simon~~]
[ Feeling a shiver, Simon curled up in a sad attempt to keep the warmth that was on his body. They were sleeping on the same cot because there wasn't a lot of space to go around, but that didn't excuse the fact that Kamina took all the blankets!! Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes blearily before looking at the giant, snoring lump of blanket beside him ]
Aniki...Aniki wake up!
[ His voice is soft in an attempt not to wake up anyone else who could be sleeping...]
Edited (KUMA CAN'T HTML, MORE AT 11) 2013-11-07 04:35 (UTC)
[So deep is Kamina's sleep that he doesn't fully realize who's talking to him or why on earth they're trying to wake him up. He lets out a low grumble and rolls away a little, nearly falling off of the cot in the process.]
...s'not time to get up, screw you...
[You're gonna have to try harder than that, Simon!]
[ Simon looked a little bit put off by that, frowning deeply. He looked around with a small amount of concern; he didn't want to wake anyone else up but...he was cold. ]
Aniki! [ His voice was a little bit louder this time until he finally stood up and ripped the blankets off of him ]
Well, a man shouldn't hog the blankets. [ Simon frowns slightly, taking them and wrapping himself up, flopping back down to go back to sleep. He thinks that's going to be the end of it...]
[Well, that's a load of bullshit if Kamina ever heard any! So he just grabs the blankets that have just been stolen from him, and yanks them bodily off of Simon, rolling off of the cot in the same motion.]
Yeah right! A man's job is to hog all of the blankets!
[ Simon gasped in surprised and rolled off the cot, making a squeaking noise in surprise. It wasn't supposed to be like this! Sitting up, his hair was sticking up on one side as he frowned deeply, jumping back on the cot and yanking the blankets ]
[ Simon sits up, surprised. Why in the world would he turn this into something so dramatic?! It's kind of pointless and Simon really does want to get a little bit of sleep. ]
I don't want to win, I just want to sleep!! [ WOW ANIKI COME ON. ]
[ Simon stood up, huffing slightly. He couldn't believe Kamina sometimes. Now everyone was awake! He bit the inside of his lip and tried to ready himself to lunge. ]
